File Formats
We provide a variety of file formats for our downloads. The types of files offered will vary according to the type of download. Note that this may vary even within a section. For example, most of our clip art is available in EPS, PNG, and SVG, but some designs are only available in PNG format. This is because those designs contain textures or other elements that aren't compatible with vector files.
Raster vs. Vector Images
Our downloads are available as raster and/or vector images. A raster image is a graphic composed of a series of colored pixels. Raster images can be used at the original size or smaller without losing quality. Quality will be reduced if you enlarge a raster image. Raster file formats include GIF, JPG, and PNG.
A vector image is an image based on a set of instructions for drawing the image. The instructions include information such as dimensions, shapes, positions, colors, and more. This allows a vector image to be used at any size without a loss of quality. Vector file formats include DXF, EPS, PDF, and SVG.
How to Find File Format Information
File format information can be found on the download page for a design. It is located under the heading "About This Design." This is in the right column below the download button on a desktop. If you are on a mobile device, you will need to scroll down to see it.
Below is an example of what this section looks like:
Software Support
The file formats we offer are compatible with many image-editing programs. However, please note that even if software supports a particular format, we can't guarantee that our files will work with that program. Some programs implement support for a format differently. This might cause issues with some files.
Our files have been tested successfully with many common programs, but it isn't feasible to test every file with every program. We encourage you to download and test files before purchasing a commercial license.
